Hotel 43

So the wife and I are at the Hotel 43, a few feet off of Hyde Park, where the Christmas Market will commence tomorrow night. Downtown on Oxford and Regent Streets the lights have gone up, also in promoting the new A Christmas Carol. The temps are unseasonably moderate, but I never liked cold weather, anyway, unseasonable or not.

The room is small, but comfy. Good enough for sleeping, resting up for the next daily expeditions. Love it!

'88

It is 1988 in Heidelberg, Germany. School is out. You can smell early Summer in the air. You can smell uncertainty. You can smell freedom. Rattle and Hum and God Part 2.

21 and 1/2  years later. November. Life is good. Golden leaves hang from trees, now barely holding grip. But there is a feeling of warmth, almost bare trees or not. Desperation or isolation are words of yonder years.

No uncertainty, thank God. Swine flu and world economics. No line on the horizon.
